On April 8th the Kent Volunteer Fire Department coordinated, collected & donated used surplus gear to the Ukraine. Gear ranged from turnout pants, jackets, boots, hoods, helmets & gloves. Carmel Fire Dept. NY & several surrounding fire department’s also contributed gear. In the US all the gear is no longer usable for interior firefighting after 10 years of manufacture date according to the NFPA 1851 but is safe & suitable for the Ukraine to use in time of need.
